Ottauquechee School Library
Rebecca Whitney, Librarian

The Library's Mission:
The Ottauquechee School Library's primary mission is to foster a love of reading in all students and to help them find the books, authors, and illustrators that will impact them.  The library supports the school's curriculum and provides a wide-range of reading materials to suit many interests and reading abilities.  The library program provides instruction in the use of libraries and encourages an appreciation of the many forms of children's literature.

Library Hours:
The library is open from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  It is open from 11:30 am until 3:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Parents are welcome to come into the library any time during the school day, after checking in at the office.  Call ahread if you need help.

Library Classes:
Each class comes to the library once every week for their scheduled library time and to check out books.  Students also come weekly in grade levels for STEAM class.

Borrowing Books:
Students in Pre-K through Grade 1 may borrow one book at a time.  Students in Grades 2-5 may borrow two books at a time.  Books may be kept for two weeks and renewed if still needed, as long as there is not a waiting list.

Book Awards:
Our school participates in two statewide children's book awards: Red Clover Award for picture books for students Grades K-4 and the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Award for students Grades 4 and 5.
