Ottauquechee School Library

Becky Whitney, Librarian

The Library's Mission:
The library supports the school's curriculum and provides a wide range of reading materials to suit many interests and reading abilities. The library program provides instruction in the use of libraries and encourages an appreciation of the many forms of children's literature.

Library Hours:
The library is usually open from about 8:00 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. There are days when we need to close early due to meetings. Parents are also welcome to come into the library anytime during the school day, after checking in at the office. Call ahead if you need help.

Library Classes:
Each class comes to the library once a week for their scheduled library time.

Borrowing Books:

Students in Pre-K through Grade 1 may borrow one book at a time. Students in Grades 2-5 may borrow 2 books at a time. Books may be kept for two weeks, and renewed if still needed.   The child must have the book in hand in order to renew.

Book Awards

Our school participates in two statewide children's choice book awards: Red Clover for picture books (Grades K-4), and the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Award (Grades 4 & 5).
