Hello Hartford School District Students, Parents and Families!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday.

As you know the guidance for school attendance during the pandemic changed last week to include a prohibition on multi-household gatherings. Governor Scott directed all schools to require students and staff who attended multi-household gatherings to follow the same guidelines and quarantine procedures, as they do for any COVID-19 symptoms or out of state travel. A new question has been added to the "Daily COVID-19 Screening for School Admittance" and pertains specifically to multi-household gatherings.

DAILY SCREENING: Each day before going to school or getting on the bus, parents/guardians must review
the following with their child and check their child’s temperature.

1. Have you been in close contact with anyone who has COVID-19 within the last 14 days?
2. Do you feel unwell with any symptoms consistent with COVID-19 (see list below)?
3. Temperature check. Temperature must be below 100 degrees Fahrenheit without the use of fever reducing
   medications such as Motrin/Ibuprofen or Tylenol/Acetaminophen.
4. Has any member of your household traveled outside of VT? If yes, have they followed the current VT Department of Health quarantine guidelines?
   
   
5. Have you engaged in multi-family gatherings?

If the answer to any of these questions is “yes” and you have not followed quarantine guidelines OR if your child has a temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, they CANNOT go to school. Please call your child’s
healthcare provider to ask about testing.

Please be sure to follow the guidelines and to adhere to all requirements for attending school during this pandemic. I am truly proud of how well everyone has done following the rules to keep our students and staff safe during this pandemic. If we can continue to be vigilant, I am hopeful we can keep our schools open for the benefit of our students.
