The Ottauquechee School Library's primary mission is to foster a love of reading in all students and to help them find the books, authors, and illustrators that will impact them.  The library supports the school's curriculum and provides a wide range of reading materials to suit many interests and reading abilities.  The library program provides instruction in the use of libraries and encourages an appreciation of the many forms of children's literature.

Students in Pre-K through Grade 1 may borrow two books at a time.  Students in Grades 2-5 may borrow three books at a time.  Books may be kept for two weeks and renewed if still needed, as long as there is not a waiting list.

Students may request books using their Hartford Schools Gmail account on the OPAC to be delivered to their school classrooms.

Our school participates in two statewide children's book awards: Red Clover Award for picture books for students Grades K-4 and the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Award for students Grades 4 and 5.

A completed Summer Reading Log has both the required number of books recorded on the back and a BINGO on the front. Return your Summer Reading BINGO sheet to the OQS librarian at the beginning of the school year for a small prize.
